What Is Outpatient Drug Rehab?

As addiction experts, we recognize that recovery needs to come in many different shapes and forms. If a person doesn’t feel comfortable with their treatment plan, they are more likely to give up on it and relapse back into their addiction. Often, a person may not feel comfortable with the structure of an inpatient program. They may have work or school responsibilities that they simply cannot put on hold.

An outpatient program allows you more flexibility and will enable you to develop a treatment plan around your current work or school schedule. If you have these responsibilities in your life, we recommend that you let us know when you reach out to us to ensure we consider these things when making plans for your treatment program.

Benefits of Outpatient Drug Rehab

There are countless benefits associated with deciding to come to our outpatient drug rehab for Pasadena residents. We always recommend that you take the time to speak with our team talk in more detail regarding our outpatient programs. Some of the advantages include:

Gain a better understanding of addiction

Many people begin their treatment program who do not understand that addiction is not a choice but a disease. They have the misconception that a condition is a choice because their addiction continues to control their lives. However, during your time in outpatient treatment, you will learn that addiction is a severe disease that could ultimately cost you your life unless you receive the care you need to address it.

Meet other people learning to cope with addiction

One of the best attributes about coming to our outpatient program is meeting other people working through their own form of recovery. By interacting with these other people and our treatment team, you will learn that you are not alone in the struggle you may feel when it comes to your addiction and recovery.

Experience different forms of therapy

The only way for you to overcome your addiction is to participate in different forms of therapy, which will help you better understand the impact that addiction has had on your life. At Muse Treatment, we offer our clients the opportunity to participate in various therapies that will assist them in tackling the different aspects of their addiction.

Continue recovery

Whether you transition into an outpatient program after first working through an inpatient program or you make a choice to initially begin treatment in our outpatient program, it’s critical to remember that this is just the beginning of your lifelong recovery process. Therefore, as you complete your outpatient program, we will encourage you to attend 12-step meetings that are local to your area. These meetings will resemble group therapy sessions in many ways and help you develop your support system outside of treatment.

Pet-Friendly Outpatient Drug Rehab Centers

For many people, their pet is a member of their family. They have separation anxiety when they are put in a position of possibly leaving their furry friend, which is why many clients decide to take advantage of our outpatient program. An outpatient program allows you to get the best of both worlds in a sense because you will still have the peace of mind of knowing that you can still care for your pet and take care of them but still receive the addiction care that you need.

Couples Outpatient Drug Rehab

If you have an addiction and you’re in a relationship, it’s not uncommon for both people in the relationship to struggle with this disease in some way, shape, or form. The problem is that unless both people in the relationship receive the help they need, the person who is still suffering from addiction can negatively impact the sobriety of the other. At Muse Treatment, we offer the opportunity for couples to come to our treatment facility and receive the care that they need together. Doing so will help you recover as a person and help save and strengthen your relationship.

How Long Does Outpatient Drug Rehab Last?

It’s important to remember that there is a difference between the amount of time you will spend in detox versus the amount of time you will spend in treatment. Many of the clients that come to Muse Treatment will need to begin their recovery in detox because it’s likely that they will experience some type of withdrawal symptoms reasonably quickly.

In fact, it’s not out of the ordinary for a person to begin to experience withdrawal symptoms within just a few hours from the last time they consume their drug of choice. Detox will typically last at least seven days, with the worst of your symptoms developing within the first 72 hours which is why you should always reach out to us as soon as possible when you decide to work through your addiction.

Detox is only the first step in the process. While it’s true that you may feel substantially better both physically and psychologically after your time in detox, you will still need to take specific steps to address your addiction. Treatment programs are structured around your needs and can last anywhere between 30 and 90 days. If you opt to begin a 30-day program, you can always extend your treatment program by another 30 or even 60 days. When you get toward the end of your detox program, we will begin to speak with you about your options for long-term treatment.

Throughout the course of your treatment, we will always make time to speak with you and check-in regarding how you feel that you’re progressing in treatment. This is typically done through individual therapy. We will review your plan and process during your unique treatment to determine whether changes need to be made. Also, it’s an excellent opportunity to address any events or traumas in your life that you may not feel comfortable talking about in a group setting.

Does Insurance Cover Outpatient Drug Rehab?

One of the leading questions that we receive from clients thinking of coming to any of our programs is whether or not their stay at our treatment center will be covered by their insurance provider. The answer is that while most insurance providers will offer coverage for a recovery program, the terms of your coverage may differ depending on the type of insurance you have. For example, some insurance providers limit the number of days you can spend in treatment or may not offer the opportunity to go to a detox program.

If you are unsure regarding the terms of your coverage, our team can help you get to the bottom of this information. If you do have insurance, we recommend that you let us know the basic details of your policy to help you make the most out of the coverage offered to you.
