Top-Rated Outpatient Drug Rehab Center for Residents of Oakland
Outpatient rehab is a treatment for drug addiction that usually involves daily sessions of counselling, therapy or group sessions while you live at home as you recover, so you can take care of your children, go to work or school, or attend to other important responsibilities in your life.
You may be a good candidate for outpatient rehab if:
- You have recently completed a residential treatment program
- You feel ready and motivated to move out into the real world as a sober person
- You are willing and able to responsibly show up for appointments on your own
- You do not feel the constant urge to use drugs or show other signs of relapsing
- You have a good grasp on your physical and mental health issues, and do not require constant monitoring or medical care
- You live in a supportive household or sober living home, with a sober-friendly atmosphere and good, solid people who will be there for you when you need them
Over time you may choose less-intensive and less-frequent sessions as you begin to grow used to your life as a sober person, and overcome your drug dependence issues.
Muse Treatment is the top-rated outpatient drug rehab center for residents of Oakland because we offer a spectrum of care that is customized to each person’s needs. As your needs lessen and you feel more confident living a self-directed life without drugs, our program can change along with you. You may want to begin in a more intensive program with full-time support in a sober living home, and then later move home, go back to work, and start attending your group and therapy sessions in the evenings or around your schedule. We will work with you to ensure you are always receiving the level of care you want, so you can remain successful in your recovery.
Drug Rehab That Allows You to Still Go to Work & School
When in an outpatient rehab program, you can absolutely continue going to work or school, caring for your family, or attend to other important things you have to do, and schedule your therapy appointments around your life. At Muse Treatment, we know that life can be complicated, and being at home just works better for some people. Whatever you choose to do, there is an option that will work for you.
Benefits of Outpatient Drug Rehab
There are many benefits to joining an outpatient drug rehab program, including:
- Having the freedom to choose the level of intensity of treatment you receive, and the frequency of meetings and counselling.
- You can schedule appointments for therapy in the evenings and weekends to accommodate work or school schedules if you need to.
- You can live at home if you choose to, especially if your friends and family are a solid support system for you.
- You will have access to support from your social circle
- With Muse Addiction Treatment Center, you can become involved in our alumni community, where friendship and support are offered for the rest of your life if you want it. You can attend gatherings and go on sober outings, and even become a mentor to others.
- You will continue to receive support, guidance, and counselling from our expert, caring staff for as long as you want it.
At Muse Addiction Treatment Center, we can help you deal with your drug use triggers by helping you adhere to the lessons and healthy coping mechanisms you learned in rehab. Triggers are different for everybody, and they can cause distress, compulsive behavior, and feelings of despair or hopelessness. Some common triggers include feeling misunderstood or lonely, celebrations and parties, problems at work or in a relationship, untreated mental illness, feeling a loss of control, and emotional distress.
Outpatient treatment is important for the addict, but it is also important for their friends and family. Supporting an addict, especially fresh out of rehab, is a big responsibility that not everybody is prepared for. With Muse Addiction Treatment Center, we have family programs that can help your loved ones be an ally, teaching them how to best support you in your recovery.
What to Expect During Outpatient Rehab?
Outpatient rehab is less restrictive than inpatient rehab. You will visit a local treatment center to attend therapy, counselling and group sessions around your work or school schedule, and with Muse Addiction Treatment Center, you can also meet up with our alumni community for extra support and sober friendship. We have options for our outpatient patients, including:
Partial Hospitalization Program – an in-between step from rehab to full outpatient care, the partial hospitalization program is a day program, where you attend meetings, groups, and therapy in the daytime while living at home.
Intensive Outpatient Program – a program with lots of freedom to come and go, maintain a regular work or school schedule, take care of your family or other responsibilities, and attend therapy, groups, and counselling sessions in the evenings or when it works best for you. You will be held accountable for your actions, reinforce lessons learned in rehab, and put them into practice in your day-to-day life. Some Muse locations have an online version of this program where meetings and therapy happens via a telehealth platform, for people who do not live near a Muse center.
Alumni – our alumni group is there to create opportunities to forge sober friendships, learn new ways to socialize without the use of drugs or alcohol, support one another, and offer mentorship. There are reunions, meetings, and other outings this group does together regularly. You can join our alumni network for a lasting support system long after treatment is over.
At Muse, we also offer referrals to sober living homes in your area if you think you may need more support and structure where you are living. These homes have strict rules about not using drugs or alcohol, visitors, curfews, house meetings and attending work, or being in an outpatient program. Each sober home is different. Some are intensive, with structured activities run by staff members, some have medical care personnel or mental health professionals on staff, and some are fairly relaxed, where as long as you follow their rules you can come and go as you please.
An important part of any recovery is an ongoing treatment plan after rehab, to give you support as you adjust to putting your new sobriety skills into place in the real world.
How Long Does Outpatient Rehab Oakland Last With Muse?
Outpatient rehab is completely customizable, and therefore can last for as long as you want it to. As much as we wish drug addiction could be erased at the door of a rehab clinic, it is a long-term disease, and may require continued support for years to come.
At Muse Treatment, we offer group sessions, therapy appointments, and host fun alumni events like barbecues, group outings and meetings, giving you options for formal or casual help through your hard times. Our outpatient programs create opportunities to meet other sober people, form friendships, become mentors, and find new ways to live without using drugs. With all this support, you will always have somebody to talk to.
Why Choose Muse?
At Muse Treatment, we like to treat our patients as whole people, not just their addiction. We understand that drug addiction is a disease that can happen to anybody, and our highly trained, professional staff members want to help you. We look for the underlying, co-occurring disorders that accompany addiction, like mental health, behavioral, and physical health conditions so we can create a customized treatment plan that will get to the root of your addiction, rather than only treating the symptoms of the problem.
At Muse we offer dual diagnosis and have many choices of therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, experiential therapy, EMDR, and life-skills and vocational training.
We use a trauma-informed methodology, meaning we understand that some people may have had bad experiences in the past that make it difficult for them to trust somebody in a position of power, or medical staff.
With the continued support and guidance at Muse, our outpatient programs will help you take back control over your life in a realistic timeline that can be sustained for the long-term. We offer payment plans, and take most types of insurance. Contact us today, and we can design a customized plan to suit your needs and lifestyle, or answer any questions you may have.
