We’re grateful they’re grateful.
If you are looking for a place to really try to change your life, Muse is a great place! The staff were all so in tune with what I was going through. If I ever had a problem, or was feeling like using, I could go to them and they'd talk to me. It didn’t matter what time of the day or night it was. I had never had people who cared about me so much that weren’t family. I still stay in touch with people I went through the house with, we go to meetings and go surfing and other things I never did when I was loaded. It’s a great life, and I really never thought I would be so happy.
I’ve been through 5 other detox programs and was pretty sure none of them would ever work. I decided to give it one more try before just resigning to being a junkie the rest of my life. I found Muse and I have to say I am pretty surprised. I have over 8 months clean and it’s more time than I’ve had the last 11 years. All the groups were great, and the neuro-feedback was something I haven’t seen anywhere else. I still see my therapist and I am so happy. I am very grateful to Muse!
I never wanted to go to treatment. I always thought I could quit on my own. I tried myself dozens of times but always went back. I could stay quit for a day or two but never more. I didn’t know what to do. I thought I would die and never thought I could live without my drug. When I finally realized that I needed some help I was terrified. The staff at Muse really knew what I was going through. They had been through it themselves and showed me the way. I have never been sober this long in my life, and if I keep doing what I’m doing, what they taught me, I think I’ll stay sober.
I stayed at Muse Sober Living for two months. When I arrived I was very emotionally and spiritually sick. My drug and alcohol dependence nearly took my life on several occasions. The structure of being surrounded by others in recovery, having chores, going to meetings and never knowing when I would get tested helped me to stay sober long enough to let the program work me. Today I am grateful to say I am clean and sober for just under a year now. My life today, inside and out, is 180 degrees away in the right direction.

Addiction is a multifaceted issue, not only related to drug use, but also psychological factors, co-occurring conditions, and physical health issues. At Muse Addiction Treatment Center, we use an integrated continuum of care to treat each patient with a customized program that will best help them rehabilitate and learn to live a life without the use of drugs in a sustained state of recovery.
After stabilizing from drug detox, our patients gain the clarity to work on themselves in our inpatient rehab program. We screen patients for physical and mental health issues, as well as conducting an in-depth interview to get to know their goals, and to formulate a personalized, long-term plan for recovery.
In our inpatient program, patients will stay in our peaceful, community-oriented facility. There is access to therapies like EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, experiential therapy, group therapies, one-on-one psychotherapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and more.
Muse Treatment is the top-rated drug rehab for residents of Santa Clarita. We recognize that every addiction is different, and every one of our patients is an individual with unique needs and goals. We aim to make sure that everybody who needs rehab can get it, so we work with insurance companies and offer payment plans to our cash clients.
After inpatient rehab, we will transition you into an outpatient program with the option of moving into one of our affiliated sober living homes. This way, patients will be able to move back into life and use your newly learned recovery skills in real-world situations, while still being fully supported by our staff and their peers.
Opioids are an extremely addictive class of drugs, and because painkillers like Vicodin, Hydrocodone, morphine and codeine are given out as prescriptions, it can be easy to become addicted, even when taking them as prescribed by a doctor. People with this addiction may find that along with providing a euphoric high, heroin is easier to obtain, and costs less money to use than these prescription medications.
When detoxing from heroin, a person may experience nausea, body aches, fatigue, and will likely experience intense drug cravings. At Muse Treatment, we offer a medically assisted treatment (MAT), which is a combination of FDA-approved medications, counseling, and behavioral therapies to help you tackle the biological and the behavioral components of opioid addiction, while helping you get through the physical withdrawal symptoms.
We have a full team of medical professionals to administer medications like buprenorphine or methadone as a maintenance treatment that will satisfy drug cravings without giving you the euphoric high. This treatment will ease withdrawal symptoms while keeping you safe. These medications, when used following prescription amounts in a safe medical setting will not create a new addiction.
Medically Assisted Treatment focuses on you as a whole person, not just an addiction to be solved. We offer counselling early into the treatment to help you with any traumatic or emotional feelings that may come up. MAT is proven to improve survival rates, and is successful in helping reduce the risk of relapse.
Cocaine is a drug that causes the user’s dopamine in the brain to rise quickly, activating pleasure centers and making you feel energetic and awake. It can also raise body temperatures, blood pressure and heart rate, causing strokes and cardiac arrest. Other physical health issues that can arise include sinus damage, heart murmur, and chronic high blood pressure.
Cocaine wears off quickly, causing an instant low mood, depression, and tiredness, which makes the user want more. Use of cocaine over time makes the brain forget how to produce dopamine on its own, making it hard to feel pleasure without drug use.
Withdrawal from cocaine includes symptoms like headaches, paranoia, irritability, fatigue, restlessness, depression, nightmares, and a general feeling of malaise.
Addiction to cocaine is mainly psychological, so there are no medications that treat cocaine dependence, but at Muse Treatment, during medical detox, we can give prescription medications to help manage specific symptoms and reduce the drug cravings associated with cocaine use. It is important to begin counselling early in the detox process. Our highly trained staff can keep you as comfortable as possible, make sure you are not feeling distress or unease, and help you avoid relapsing when things get difficult.
Methamphetamine (Meth) is a very strong drug that becomes addictive fast. It is also metabolized quickly, so the “crash” that comes with detoxing can happen within hours, and can last for a few days, up to several weeks. During this time, you might experience agitation, tremors, confusion, insomnia, fatigue, dehydration and nausea, as well as psychological factors like depression or anxiety. It can be difficult, both physically and mentally, to detox from meth, so a medically assisted treatment program is recommended.
At Muse Treatment, we have around-the-clock nursing care, and our highly-trained clinical staff is very knowledgeable about addiction and detoxing. There is a nurse practitioner onsite daily, and our head nurse is a certified addictions RN. Nearly half of the staff at Muse are in recovery, so many of them will understand some of what you are going through, and they all want to help.
In our medically assisted treatment program, medications can be administered at prescription levels to help keep you comfortable, safe, and relaxed, and help you get some sleep as you go through the detoxing process. Once detox is complete, you can easily transition into one of our residential drug rehab programs, located in the same facility.
Muse Addiction Treatment Center uses an integrated continuum of care to treat our clients. We focus on you as a whole person, instead of just your symptoms. With a combination of medical detox, behavioral therapy, training and counseling in our life-skills programs, your ability to live an independent, drug-free life will improve significantly.
After you have completed your inpatient rehab program, we offer outpatient options that incorporate what you have learned in rehab into your real life. You can continue receiving care at a level you are comfortable with, but live normally, attending school or work, or taking care of other responsibilities you may have. We can also refer you to our affiliated sober living homes, if you feel you would like to go into a more structured intermediary home between rehab and living on your own.
We have a robust network of alumni who will support you and offer friendship and mentorship, and our staff will help you in whatever way you require throughout your journey towards an independent, sober life.
