Alcohol Rehab That Allows You to Still Go to Work & School

It may come as a surprise to you, but most people who struggle with substance abuse or addiction continue to hold a job. Sometimes they may even excel at their careers while they silently struggle with mental health and substance abuse issues. They struggle to get the help they need because they cannot take time off work to enter an inpatient treatment program.

Outpatient alcohol programs are flexible enough to allow you to go to work or school full-time. Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Muse, can schedule your therapies and meetings outside work or school hours, such as early mornings, evenings, or weekends. Our treatment facility is located just an hour away from Garden Grove which makes it easy to commute to but far away enough for added privacy.

Benefits of Outpatient Alcohol Rehab

Outpatient alcohol rehab is best used as a step down from inpatient treatment, however, it can be a great starting point for those with milder addictions and who are highly motivated. Patients will live independently outside of Muse Treatment Center or at one of our sober living facilities, with the ability to come and go as they, please. Benefits of outpatient alcohol rehab include:

  • Outpatient rehab is more affordable because you do not need room, I’m bored plus there were fewer weekly therapies.
  • Patients continue to receive support from loved ones and also a new community of individuals in recovery and counselors.
  • Outpatient alcohol rehab helps clients transition back to daily life with enough support and feedback from our counselors.
  • Patients can actively apply what they learn in treatment to the real world as they experience triggers, stressors, and cravings.
  • Individuals can continue living at home which may be more comfortable and allow them to continue taking care of responsibilities, such as small children, disabled loved ones, and pets.

What to Expect During Outpatient Rehab?

At Muse Treatment Center, every rehab program is unique and tailor-made for each patient. Rehab begins with a thorough physical and psychological evaluation so our clinicians can create a personalized treatment plan. Clinicians will then schedule your treatments and therapies around work, school, or personal obligations. You are expected to be responsible for showing up on time to schedule therapies and services several days a week for an allotted period. Individual and group therapy sessions will make up the biggest bulk of your treatment plan. Evidence-based addiction therapies aim to treat the root cause of addiction while teaching you the necessary tools and skills to self-manage your recovery.

How Long Does Outpatient Garden Grove Last With Muse?

Personalized treatment plans at Muse Treatment Center near Garden Grove, will vary in length depending on each patient’s clinical and personal needs. We offer 30-, 60-, and 90-day program lengths which can be made up of several levels of care or done entirely in outpatient care. In general, those with milder addictions can expect short-term rehab and more severe or long-lasting addiction may require long-term care. Aftercare and alumni programs will help you continue with the work and management needed after rehab to continue experiencing success.

IOP

Muse’s Intensive outpatient program (IOP) is our most flexible, structured rehab program. IOP typically requires about 10 to 12 weekly hours of group and individual therapy. Patients can expect to travel to our treatment facility for about three to five days a week for an allotted block of treatment time. This program allows enough flexibility to continue going to work full time and can be scheduled during times that are most convenient to you. Patients can practice new skills and tools as they learn them.

PHP

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) at Muse Treatment Center is an intensive outpatient treatment program. Many consider PHP to be a hybrid between inpatient and outpatient treatment as this program requires full days of treatment, 5 to 7 days a week. Patients will go home or to a sober living facility at the end of the day. On average, PHP requires about 20 weekly hours of treatment but can be more if needed. These programs last between two to four weeks before transitioning into IOP or other outpatient programs.

Which Outpatient Treatment, IOP or PHP, is Right for Me?

Our clinicians at Muse Treatment Center near Garden Grove will advise you on which programs they feel are best for you based on our initial evaluation. However, you do not have to choose one program from another. Our treatment programs work best when used in a succession of one another. Starting with more intensive programs like PHP and working down to IOP can provide the best chance at a successful recovery.
