Alcohol Detox Program
At Muse, we offer an inpatient alcohol detox program at our Los Angeles Inpatient Rehab Center. Alcohol detox is conducted so that the substance is totally flushed out of a person’s system before they begin rehab therapy treatment. Although detox alone is only the beginning of the overall rehabilitation process, a person is not truly in recovery until they are no longer drinking and there is no alcohol in their system. Although this is often the shortest phase of a person’s treatment, it is also commonly one of the toughest. Alcoholism or Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) typically takes a long time to develop which means people who seek treatment have been drinking on a regular basis for quite some time. This can make the psychological withdrawal symptoms just as hard to overcome as the physical ones.
Alcohol detox in a safe, secure environment can be an important choice and the right one for many people when they are beginning their recovery. Alcohol is accepted and prevalent in our society and although other substances are easy to acquire there are almost no barriers between someone who wants alcohol and getting it. By detoxing in an inpatient environment, this easy access aspect of drinking again and relapsing while trying to go through withdrawal and detox is eliminated. Most substances, including alcohol, affect a person’s mind, body and spirit and even though withdrawal symptoms are somewhat predictable in general, how someone is going to react to them can almost never be foreseen. By being in an environment supervised by professionals who have helped countless individuals make their way through this stage of their recovery and are ready to handle whatever issues arise.

Alcohol Rehab for Residents of Westminster
Alcohol rehab is attended in one form or another by hundreds of thousands of people every day who are at one stage of their recovery or another. This includes people who have just one day sober and are going through a detox program to people who have been in recovery for decades who are involved in an aftercare organization like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Recovery is a long journey and is something a person will have to work on for the rest of their life. That effort comes with a big payoff. That is putting the negative effects of substance abuse behind you. Beginning alcohol rehab in Westminster can be easy with the help of us at Muse. We have inpatient and outpatient programs that can be customized to fit anyone’s needs. If you choose to start your journey with us, we will be with you every step of the way.
At Muse, we understand how intricately alcohol is woven into our everyday society. Due to this fact, rehab needs to address that in the end, other people consuming alcohol cannot be totally avoided forever if a person is going to be part of society even after they are in recovery. Through individual, group, family and alternative therapy options we work with our clients to help them address previous issues that led them to drinking. We then assist them in forming coping mechanisms, building support structures, learning what they need to do on a daily basis to remain on track. As part of our approach to alcohol rehab, we incorporate the 12-step model and highly encourage our clients to continue to use the services of support organizations like AA.
Drug Rehab for Residents of Westminster
For a lot of people, they feel or want to believe they are on the side of the line of drug use that is categorized as occasional recreational use as opposed to abuse or dependency. Once a person admits they have a problem, they are ready or close to being ready to accept help. For the residents of Westminster, Muse Treatment has inpatient drug rehab at our residential care center and outpatient services available, too. In a lot of cases, our clients take advantage of more than one level of care while they are being treated by Muse. This goes along with what many experts believe, which is that patients are most successful when they are treated in a variety of ways.
The most important thing is for our clients to feel comfortable with their care plans. Of course, there are parts of a person’s rehabilitation from drugs or alcohol that are going to be tough, but if a patient feels like they fit in well with the types of therapy or other services they are receiving, they will not make the progress they should. That’s why we work hand-in-hand with each of our clients to develop a customized treatment plan. In this way, not only are we making sure we are addressing all of the issues of each patient, but that they are a part of deciding what types of sessions, counseling, therapies, and other aspects of rehab in which they will take part. In this way we exemplify the team and partnership nature of our approach to alcohol and drug rehab. Establishing a connection with each of our clients that begins with their initial consultation is key.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?
How much drug or alcohol rehab costs should be one of the last things on someone’s mind when they are seeking to make a positive change in their life. Our admissions team works with each of our clients individually to go over costs, insurance coverage, types of services we offer, and all of the other administrative aspects of beginning alcohol or drug rehab. Our job is to put your mind at ease, whether it is you who is looking to begin treatment or you are helping a loved one tackle their issues with substance abuse.
At Muse, we have a myriad of treatment options for residents of Westminster and the rest of the Los Angeles area and our job is to find the right ones for each individual. This includes the cost of treatment and making sure that each of our clients is comfortable with how that fits into their life, too. Making such a big change in life can be stressful, even when it is something positive like buying a new home, starting a new job, or beginning recovery. At Muse, we don’t want to add to that stress so we work to make sure it’s not a factor to the best of our abilities. Our admissions professionals will always review each and every part of working with us with you and will answer any questions you may have about each of our levels of care.
How Long is Detox?
At Muse, we treat people for addiction who have been abusing alcohol, prescription medications, illegal street drugs, and other substances that include depressants, stimulants, opioids, hallucinogens, disassociates, inhalants, cannabis, and others. For the most part, during what might be referred to as regular detox, substances are out of a person’s system in two weeks or less. This might seem like a short period of time to become clean of substances but from day one most individuals will experience withdrawal symptoms that range from annoying and distracting to painful and sometimes dangerous. That’s why an inpatient alcohol or drug detox program is such an important service to have available.
There are detox programs for certain substances that last longer than the standard four to 14 days. One of these categories is detox for opioids, which can have much longer lasting cravings and withdrawal symptoms. For people going through withdrawal and detox from opioids, we do offer a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. Through the MAT process, patients are prescribed what are often referred to as replacement drugs, which are controlled by our medical staff for quality and doses. Individuals are then weaned off of the prescription medication, which helps curb cravings and withdrawal symptoms throughout the detox process. Although this takes longer than the standard detox treatment and process, it takes much less of a toll on a person’s system and eliviates the possibility of any withdrawal symptoms that could have negative effects on an individual’s overall health. Additionally, because cravings are also stymied, the possibility of relapses during this initial phase of treatment is also lessened.
How Long is Rehab?
As an alcohol and drug abuse and addiction agency, one of the first topics that we are asked by potential clients and their families is about the length of rehab treatment. This can be somewhat of a loaded question. First, every person has had different experiences with drugs or alcohol. They have been abusing or addicted to one substance or another for different lengths of time, and the severity of their substance abuse varies greatly from person to person. This all affects how long rehab will be for them overall.
Second, the idea is for someone to come out of alcohol or drug rehab feeling different. Again, this is specific to each individual, but in general we want our clients to feel like they’ve moved forward and are starting a new chapter in their life. How long this will take will be different for each of them. There are some general timeframes we do discuss with patients and their families, so that there aren’t any surprises as a person begins and progresses through different stages of their treatment. For example, typically inpatient detox, if needed, takes from four to 14 days. This can be longer if an individual takes part in a program for a specific category of substances, like opioids. For inpatient alcohol or drug rehab at Muse, we have 30, 60 and 90 days programs.
As for outpatient treatment, this is the most open-ended. When someone has progressed through detox, residential rehab, and possibly some specialized programs with us, when they begin outpatient care, we don’t want to feel like they’re on the clock to complete their treatment. A person should continue outpatient therapy, whether that’s on an individual basis or in group sessions, for as long as they feel like they need regular treatment and support. Once they feel confident they can exist in society without regular therapy or counseling, then they are ready to say their rehab has been completed. We always encourage our alumni to stay in touch with us and to also take part in aftercare support programs, like those organized by Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous (AA and NA).
30-Day Rehab
For a lot of people, a 30-day stay in a residential treatment center is what they think about when they hear the term “drug rehab.” This has been popularized by modern fiction, including TV shows and movies, and is certainly what a lot of people take advantage of at Muse. One month of inpatient care may not be enough time to address all of the issues a person is facing regarding their drug or alcohol use, but it is a very positive step in the right direction.
Short term residential rehab immediately allows the individual to reset in a drug and alcohol-free environment. While working through withdrawal symptoms and cravings, there are none of the temptations that a person is exposed to in their normal life. Additionally, all of the stresses people face, which may contribute to alcohol or drug abuse, are set aside, even if it’s just for a month. 30 day inpatient rehab provides an excellent building block for a person’s recovery. There will be many milestones along an individual’s journey once they put drugs and alcohol behind them, and the 30 day mark is an excellent one to have accomplished.
Long-Term Rehab
Long term rehab, which we consider to be from 60 to 90 days at Muse, is not just a longer version of our short term residential care. When a person commits to a long term rehab program, their counselors and therapists are able to explore much more deeply the catalysts behind their drug and alcohol abuse. This can lead to a more solid foundation for future outpatient treatment to expand on after inpatient care. This also allows patients more time to improve their overall health while they are staying with us. Our culinary staff provides delicious and healthy meals and there are exercise programs for our guests to take part in both as a portion of their therapy and during their leisure hours.
People who turn to drugs or alcohol often ignore their health in many ways, both on a daily basis and regarding other more serious issues. Our medical staff assesses everyone when they begin treatment with us to ensure there are no underlying issues that should be dealt with in addition to their alcohol or drug rehab. Long term rehab also gives our guests more of an opportunity to explore alternative types of therapy sessions, like art or music. These can also lead to finding new activities to enjoy once you are back at home, which is another important step in a person’s recovery.
Couples Rehab
At Muse, we often work with couples where both people are struggling with substance abuse. In corollary, there are also a good number of couples out there that are in different stages of abuse or addiction or recovery. The severity of each person’s struggle is often not the same, either. All of these factors lead to couples needing experienced professionals like at Muse Treatment to help them navigate their journey to a healthier lifestyle. As much as we enjoy every victory, there is a special satisfaction that comes with being able to help both members of a relationship get on the right path and progress together in recovery.
Our counselors and therapists take additional care to make sure that both people are committed to working on being in recovery and living drug and alcohol free. When this is the case, couples can go through rehab together. Even when this is the case, there are many instances where each person is treated separately, but because they are both progressing together, they can support each other every step of the way. Creating a support system is an important step for anyone going through rehab and entering recovery and when both members of a couple are committed to making this change that support they can offer each other is an excellent foundational piece for their continued success.
Pet-Friendly Rehab
Yes, you can bring your pet to rehab. People who have pets, no matter what stage of life they are in or how they feel their life is going, know they have someone who will always be there for them and give them unconditional love. Pets become attuned to their owners and certainly react when they are happy or sad or frustrated, which can be very helpful when dealing with whatever life throws at us. So being able to bring a supportive four-legged (usually) companion that you’re used to having by your side can be a big plus when it comes to attending alcohol or drug rehab.
Does My Insurance Have Coverage for Rehab?
Along with questions about cost, this is one of the things people commonly ask when they speak to one of our admissions counselors. At Muse Treatment, we work with your insurance company to make sure you are taking advantage of all of the benefits and coverages that you have as part of your policy. Let us guide you through the process. It’s our job to get you the care you need while also making sure it’s not adding any undue stress to your life.
