We’re grateful they’re grateful.
If you are looking for a place to really try to change your life, Muse is a great place! The staff were all so in tune with what I was going through. If I ever had a problem, or was feeling like using, I could go to them and they'd talk to me. It didn’t matter what time of the day or night it was. I had never had people who cared about me so much that weren’t family. I still stay in touch with people I went through the house with, we go to meetings and go surfing and other things I never did when I was loaded. It’s a great life, and I really never thought I would be so happy.
I’ve been through 5 other detox programs and was pretty sure none of them would ever work. I decided to give it one more try before just resigning to being a junkie the rest of my life. I found Muse and I have to say I am pretty surprised. I have over 8 months clean and it’s more time than I’ve had the last 11 years. All the groups were great, and the neuro-feedback was something I haven’t seen anywhere else. I still see my therapist and I am so happy. I am very grateful to Muse!
I never wanted to go to treatment. I always thought I could quit on my own. I tried myself dozens of times but always went back. I could stay quit for a day or two but never more. I didn’t know what to do. I thought I would die and never thought I could live without my drug. When I finally realized that I needed some help I was terrified. The staff at Muse really knew what I was going through. They had been through it themselves and showed me the way. I have never been sober this long in my life, and if I keep doing what I’m doing, what they taught me, I think I’ll stay sober.
I stayed at Muse Sober Living for two months. When I arrived I was very emotionally and spiritually sick. My drug and alcohol dependence nearly took my life on several occasions. The structure of being surrounded by others in recovery, having chores, going to meetings and never knowing when I would get tested helped me to stay sober long enough to let the program work me. Today I am grateful to say I am clean and sober for just under a year now. My life today, inside and out, is 180 degrees away in the right direction.

When a couple uses drugs and alcohol together for a long period of time, or can only relate to one another while using substances, they may need to enter a rehab facility before the relationship falls apart. Even if both members of the relationship are committed to one another, if left too long, drugs and alcohol can cause irrevocable damage. Some couples find it difficult to enjoy physical intimacy or express love without using drugs, or it becomes the only activity they enjoy doing together.
Some signs that couples rehab may be a good idea for you and your partner include if you are:
Addiction and substance abuse can damage a relationship and cause emotional distance between you. Physical and mental health can decline in both partners. It is important to get help, and if you go into rehab together, your relationship can come out the other side stronger than ever.
At Muse Treatment, we treat substance abuse, chemical dependence, trauma, dual diagnosis, and co-occurring addictions. Our alcohol and drug rehab for couples provides a positive framework for life after treatment and gives you the best chance to thrive as a couple.
Relationships, where both members of a couple use drugs or drink alcohol together, are common. The longer the use continues, the more difficult it can be to work on your issues, because emotional distance can grow, which can turn into a cycle of more drug use and dependency. Couples rehab can help you avoid the cycle.
At Muse Addiction Treatment Center, we offer couples alcohol and drug rehabilitation for residents of Sacramento. This means that you and your partner can come into our program together, and work on your relationship health at the same time as you deal with addiction issues.
At Muse, you will learn to support your partner through some of the big issues associated with recovery, like triggers, psychological changes, and health issues. You work on self-control, contingency management, and problem solving, and will learn how to avoid enabling your partner.
Other benefits of couples rehab include:
Muse’s couples rehab program will give you both a higher chance of abstaining from drugs and alcohol. During couples rehab, you will address addiction issues in behavioral therapy sessions, and attend family therapy to teach you how to interact, communicate, and increase positivity in your relationship. As a couple, you will learn to support one another, and as an individual, you will learn to reframe negative thoughts and behaviors and work on your sobriety, getting to the root of the issue.
You will have the option to be a part of the traditional, spiritually based 12-step program, or take part in the evidence-based SMART group therapy. These, as well as therapy and counseling, can continue throughout your outpatient treatment once you leave our facility.
Treatment in our inpatient facility is beneficial because you will be away from the stresses and triggers of everyday life and be able to truly focus on yourself and your relationship with your partner without outside influences. It can be comforting to go through rehab with your significant other, supporting one another, and you can learn to spend quality time together while sober.
Couples rehab will help you through detox, and give you the tools you need to prevent relapse and achieve a long-term recovery. We know that everybody has different preferences, goals, and needs, so at Muse Addiction Treatment Center, we will tailor a plan to fit what you want to achieve as a couple and as individuals.
At Muse Treatment, our couples rehabilitation program uses integrated treatment to focus on you and your partner as complex people, and we will treat you with respect and dignity. For addiction treatment, Muse manages underlying and co-existing conditions using behavioral therapies, counselling, and medical care. We will also treat your relationship through family therapy, strengthening your bond, improving your communication, and boosting your chances of staying together to support one another long after rehab is over.
At Muse, during detox, we offer a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), in which FDA-approved, prescription medications can be given by our clinical professionals to help with withdrawal symptoms. MAT also teaches non-addicted partners how to best support their partner’s recovery.
Muse is the top-rated couples rehab clinic for people living in Sacramento. With its amenities like our welcoming, highly professional staff, our comfortable housing, excellent fresh food prepared by our in-house chef, exercise facilities and our serene and community-focused environment, you and your partner will feel relaxed, safe, and ready to work on your sobriety individually and as a couple.
Through therapy, counseling, clinical care, and other programs like life skills and vocational training, you and your partner will learn to live independent, healthy lives without the use of drugs and alcohol. It can take some work to return to the loving, happy relationship you once had, but with Muse Treatment’s integrated couples rehab program, you will have a greater chance of establishing a more communicative drug- and alcohol-free relationship.
