We’re grateful they’re grateful.
If you are looking for a place to really try to change your life, Muse is a great place! The staff were all so in tune with what I was going through. If I ever had a problem, or was feeling like using, I could go to them and they'd talk to me. It didn’t matter what time of the day or night it was. I had never had people who cared about me so much that weren’t family. I still stay in touch with people I went through the house with, we go to meetings and go surfing and other things I never did when I was loaded. It’s a great life, and I really never thought I would be so happy.
I’ve been through 5 other detox programs and was pretty sure none of them would ever work. I decided to give it one more try before just resigning to being a junkie the rest of my life. I found Muse and I have to say I am pretty surprised. I have over 8 months clean and it’s more time than I’ve had the last 11 years. All the groups were great, and the neuro-feedback was something I haven’t seen anywhere else. I still see my therapist and I am so happy. I am very grateful to Muse!
I never wanted to go to treatment. I always thought I could quit on my own. I tried myself dozens of times but always went back. I could stay quit for a day or two but never more. I didn’t know what to do. I thought I would die and never thought I could live without my drug. When I finally realized that I needed some help I was terrified. The staff at Muse really knew what I was going through. They had been through it themselves and showed me the way. I have never been sober this long in my life, and if I keep doing what I’m doing, what they taught me, I think I’ll stay sober.
I stayed at Muse Sober Living for two months. When I arrived I was very emotionally and spiritually sick. My drug and alcohol dependence nearly took my life on several occasions. The structure of being surrounded by others in recovery, having chores, going to meetings and never knowing when I would get tested helped me to stay sober long enough to let the program work me. Today I am grateful to say I am clean and sober for just under a year now. My life today, inside and out, is 180 degrees away in the right direction.

When deciding which rehab program to enter, it is important to consider how you want to be treated. A respectful environment, where you are valued as a person, is important.
Muse Treatment is the top-rated residential drug rehab program for residents of Sacramento. It has top-tier facilities, with kind and non-judgmental staff, many of whom are in recovery themselves. They truly want to help you get sober, and will go above and beyond to ensure you feel comfortable during treatment.
Many people who come to a rehab facility are dealing with more than one health or addiction issue, and a dual diagnosis is necessary. Each person has different needs, history, and health, and at Muse Treatment, we will treat you as a whole person, not just another substance user. We know that everybody has a story, and deserves respect and dignity.
Inpatient rehab is an important part of treating addiction. It is the work that happens after detoxing, where you attend counseling and therapy sessions to exchange self-destructive ways of thinking and behaving for more positive and productive thoughts and actions.
You will stay in a rehab facility full-time, away from your regular life, away from triggers, temptations, and stress so you can recalibrate your brain and body. Our facilities have structured days, and you will be surrounded by like-minded peers. You will be a part of a sober community, where everybody is working on themselves and their sobriety.
Inpatient rehab at Muse is peaceful and relaxing, with plenty of time to gain skills and techniques, so you can learn to confidently lead an independent life without the use of drugs or alcohol.
During inpatient rehab, the goal is for you to reframe your life and your goals, gain independence, and learn to live life without the use of drugs and alcohol.
Detox is only one part of rehab. At Muse, we believe that the underlying causes and co-occurring disorders are as important as the addiction itself, because they are all connected. Some of the therapy options we have include cognitive behavioral therapy, group therapies, individual psychotherapy, experiential therapy, EMDR, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and more.
You will stay in a comfortable and safe place that has diet plans and nutritional support, exercise facilities, community gatherings, and various therapy options, surrounded by peers. The food is excellent, and dietary needs can be easily accommodated. There are gatherings and game nights, and at Muse Treatment we even have offsite day trips to beaches to go surfing, mountains to go hiking, and other options like church services on Sundays.
At Muse Addiction Treatment Center, you will have medical and emotional support available to you 24 hours a day, provided by our highly trained and empathetic staff. We have hands-on career and life-skills training and counseling, so you can gain new skills to help you live a self-directed, independent life after rehab is over. The inpatient program is designed to support you for as long as you need in a serene and tranquil environment, where you can focus on yourself and your recovery. Staying in an inpatient program will reduce your risk of relapse.
When you are ready to move out of our residential program, Muse can refer you to a sober living home to give you a structured intermediary step between rehab and living on your own.
Our outpatient options can be customized to fit your lifestyle, from intensive day programs to aftercare that fits around your schedule and responsibilities. You are welcome to attend our alumni gatherings and meetings, and if you wish you can become a mentor for others as well. No matter what you choose to do, we will be there to support you.
When you first enter a treatment facility, you will do an interview so we can get to know you, and have a look around. If you decide to move forward, you will then be screened for co-occurring conditions like physical and mental health issues or trauma. We will work together to come up with a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to you, your goals, your needs, and your budget.
After the intake procedures, you will need to detox. At Muse, we generally recommend a medically assisted treatment (MAT) for detoxing, because our highly trained clinical staff can provide you with prescription doses of medications to get you through any uncomfortable or dangerous withdrawal symptoms. You will be monitored 24/7, and there are nurses on-site during the day to ensure everything is going as it should. Detox usually takes between five and fourteen days, depending on the drug, how long it was being used, and other factors like physical health and genetics.
Once detox is over, you will move into our residential rehabilitation program. This takes place in the same facility, so you won’t have to worry about transferring or changing locations. You will stay in one of our comfortable, home-like rooms with amenities like sport and exercise equipment, an on-site chef, games, and movie nights.
Your days will be structured, and through our tailored treatment plan, we will determine the best course of action to suit your situation.
Inpatient rehab can last for as long as you like. It is strongly recommended to stay for at least 30 days for treatment to take effect, and at Muse Treatment we also offer 60- and 90-day programs. Whatever your preference, we can accommodate your needs. The longer you remain within our treatment facilities, the lower the risk of relapse.
Care at Muse Treatment does not end with residential treatment. We offer outpatient, aftercare, and alumni programs and activities, so you will be supported long after treatment is over. We will work with you to find a plan that will help foster a lasting recovery once you leave the premises.
At Muse, we use a trauma-informed approach to find the underlying root of addiction through dual diagnosis and an integrated continuum of care. All treatment is provided by highly trained and experienced staff who truly want to help.
Our goal is to make detox and rehab available to everyone in a safe, community-based, welcoming environment. We create an individualized treatment plan based on each person’s unique goals, budget, and needs with the goal of providing support to help each patient live a happy and healthy life. We take insurance and there are multiple payment options.
Aftercare is an important part of the Muse treatment plan. We provide various outpatient and alumni programs and can tailor everything to your individual needs. At Muse, you will always have the support you need in your life to stay away from drugs and alcohol.
