We’re grateful they’re grateful.
If you are looking for a place to really try to change your life, Muse is a great place! The staff were all so in tune with what I was going through. If I ever had a problem, or was feeling like using, I could go to them and they'd talk to me. It didn’t matter what time of the day or night it was. I had never had people who cared about me so much that weren’t family. I still stay in touch with people I went through the house with, we go to meetings and go surfing and other things I never did when I was loaded. It’s a great life, and I really never thought I would be so happy.
I’ve been through 5 other detox programs and was pretty sure none of them would ever work. I decided to give it one more try before just resigning to being a junkie the rest of my life. I found Muse and I have to say I am pretty surprised. I have over 8 months clean and it’s more time than I’ve had the last 11 years. All the groups were great, and the neuro-feedback was something I haven’t seen anywhere else. I still see my therapist and I am so happy. I am very grateful to Muse!
I never wanted to go to treatment. I always thought I could quit on my own. I tried myself dozens of times but always went back. I could stay quit for a day or two but never more. I didn’t know what to do. I thought I would die and never thought I could live without my drug. When I finally realized that I needed some help I was terrified. The staff at Muse really knew what I was going through. They had been through it themselves and showed me the way. I have never been sober this long in my life, and if I keep doing what I’m doing, what they taught me, I think I’ll stay sober.
I stayed at Muse Sober Living for two months. When I arrived I was very emotionally and spiritually sick. My drug and alcohol dependence nearly took my life on several occasions. The structure of being surrounded by others in recovery, having chores, going to meetings and never knowing when I would get tested helped me to stay sober long enough to let the program work me. Today I am grateful to say I am clean and sober for just under a year now. My life today, inside and out, is 180 degrees away in the right direction.

When the romantic partner you are dedicated to is diagnosed as a diabetic, you will support them any way you can, but your own blood sugar is not likely to rise because of the illness they are suffering from. If the person you love most in life is diagnosed with heart disease or suffers from a heart attack, you may prepare different meals, but your own heart will remain strong as you do so.
The dangerous and potentially deadly disease known as substance use disorder is different from those other illnesses in a number of different ways. If your husband, wife, boyfriend or girlfriend is struggling with an addiction to alcohol or drugs, you are at much greater risk for substance abuse yourself, and that could make an already dire situation at least twice as difficult.
In addition to putting you at greater risk of your own substance abuse problem, being the romantic partner of a drug addict or alcoholic also increases your risk of things like financial problems, domestic violence and other issues, not to mention the shattering of trust that is the result of the substance abuse itself.
In short, drug addiction and alcoholism are not individual problems – instead they are family illnesses, and every member of the family will suffer alongside the individual who has been directly impacted. If you are married to or romantically involved with a drug addict or alcoholic, you know better than most just how untenable the situation really is.
You also know that many relationships have been irrevocably lost as the result of drug addiction and alcoholism. You know that your own marriage or romantic relationship may be the next casualty of substance use disorder, and you wonder what can be done to stop the bleeding and recover the love you and your partner were once able to share.
Those thoughts, feelings and fears are all too common among those who are living with addiction, but you do not have to suffer in silence any longer or worry that your relationship is over. If you are willing to put in the work and get the help you need, we are here to provide the expert assistance you need, and that is what our exclusive couples rehab program is all about.
If you would like to learn more about how couples rehab works and what it is like we encourage you to take the next step today. All it takes is a single phone call, so pick up the phone and give the relationship experts at Muse Treatment a call.
When one member of the family is addicted to alcohol and drugs, everyone else in their circle suffers right alongside them. Their employers suffer from a loss in productivity, from repeated absences and from safety issues caused by on the job intoxication. Their friends suffer as the addicts and alcoholics in their lives pull away, or when they lash out in anger and denial when confronted with proof of their substance use disorder.
Their family members suffer as well, struggling with the loss of trust, fearing that they are enabling bad and even dangerous behavior, becoming the victims of petty theft and overnight robberies. Parents may wonder if turning their drug addicted sons and daughters is what it takes to get them into treatment. They may struggle with how and when to stage an intervention, or beat themselves up thinking that something they did contributed to the abuse.
Those issues are all too real, and it is clear that everyone suffers when there is an addiction problem or alcoholic in the family. But no one suffers quite as profoundly, or are impacted quite as directly, as the husbands, wives, boyfriends and girlfriends caught in the middle. For those individuals, things like domestic violence, financial devastation and constant arguments can quickly become the norm, and it is not easy to know where to turn.
That is the bad news, but there is good news to report as well. The emergence of couples rehab has been a true game changer in the field of addiction and alcoholism treatment, and at Muse we have quickly become leaders in the field.
Our couples rehab program offers many benefits for alcoholics, drug addicts and the people they love most in the world. When you work with us, we will delve deep, uncovering the root causes of the substance use disorder, providing coping skills for you and your partner and giving you the tools you need to heal your relationship from the inside out.
